Good Day,

My name is Donna Lacourse and I'm writing you in regard to James Timilty the treasurer you recently appointed. I am assuming you are unaware of what he's done as senator in Attleboro which is why he was able to duck away from the problems here and work making such a sizable amount of money in Norfolk County.
Now, I would understand this appointment if he handled his position as senator nobly but this just isn't the case. Let me inform you about what has occurred in Attleboro that has put many lives in jeopardy due to Jim's tactics as senator.

It all began with a government project, a new DPW on highly toxic contaminated land on Lamb Street in Attleboro. This clean up should have included a team of qualified geologists and engineers, with proper disposal methods for contaminants which include TCE PCB and likely mercury, but it did not. A short clean up was filed with the EPA, which enabled a short cut and dumping of this toxic material at our sludgefill center in town - thus contaminating it also. This short clean up, from what I understand, was obtained by then, Senator Jim Timilty, and when he was confronted with this on Facebook, I was promised a response. I was told to email my concerns to his office and he'd reply. I emailed a lengthy letter about the situation, received a response from his office stating that he'd get back to me, but he did not. Instead he deleted the Google satellite photography of what he called a "short clean up" off his facebook and blocked my email address.

We are now under what he's left behind. The contamination from the project is running down our river, contaminating properties, jeopardizing businesses, and endangering lives. The wheels of the process are turning slowly in town because, it's not always easy for government to accept responsibility for a wrongdoing. I am extremely offended that this man is making an obscene amount of money, in such a highly regarded and sought after position, considering what he's done here in Attleboro. We couldn't trust him here with our project and he's still working for the state? I can only assume you cast an uninformed vote and I hope you reconsider his position as treasurer of Norfolk County.

I am working tirelessly notifying people in town about the problems at the DPW, and even the town of Seekonk about the situation due to the fact that dumping at our sludgefill center put their town in danger. I do hope these problems are rectified as soon as possible and Jim's position reconsidered based on this new information.

Thank you,
Donna Lacourse

To view the DPW under construction. Go to Google, type Lamb Street Attleboro in the search, click the map which should be the first result of the search. Then, choose street view to see the project under construction.

There you can see for yourself, refuse heaps on a NEW driveway over rock (not a parking lot) - with massive amounts of contaminated soil. This is NOT a short clean-up per it's definition, AND an obvious example of mis-handled hazardous waste and cross contamination.
