Rehoboth has its own battle going on - although on pause - against a compressor station wanting to make its home in town. Considering how volatile our city is, I think it's unwise for any border town to consider one. Attleboro has strongly supported Rehoboth's fight, where ever you drive in town, you're sure to see a "No Compressor Station Rehoboth" sign along the way. It really is an inspiration to see so many people support a cause outside their own city. With that in mind, below are some photos of the environmental impact of both a small gas installation on South Main Street and a gas pipeline on Oak Hill Ave, near Country Road, where another gas pipeline installation resides. Since these illustrate some of the problems with small pipeline installations, it's easier to imagine, and extremely worrisome, when considering the environmental impact of a large one.

Wanting to know more about the issue in Rehoboth, I visited No Rehoboth Compressor and read through the problems which could arise and their many aruguments against the station. I can't understand why the matter hasn't been officially and permanently extinguished, considering both the overwhelming support of the matter, and the many hazards to humans and the environment if one were allowed.

If you want to check out Attleboro's pipeline on your own, I hope you'll be sure to notice the house on Oakhill Ave, across the street from the pipeline cane, with the gas installation in its backyard. You'll see browning by the fence of the installation, looking much like the pictures below.

I was going to take some photos to post here, but the owner was watering his garden....in front of the installation, and I was trying to remain inconspicuous. While looking on, I felt I was watching a contradiction, and thought to self....I wonder how healthy that is?

Good Luck Rehoboth!
